President’s Day

President’s Day, Abe Lincoln’s birthday included, is a big deal to Aidan.  For the second year in a row we celebrated by going to the JFK Library.  This year Aidan’s good friend came along.  She has been in his class since he began at the Condon, and will be in his class next year.  They are very similar and had a fun time talking about presidential trivia, school and words they knew in Latin.

The day itself was full of impersonations (John Adams and Thomas Jefferson), crafts (Lincoln’s hat and a space capsule).  And there was trivia.  I love that Aidan looks forward to this- and that Bren is a good sport about going!!

Disney on Ice

My Valentine’s Day this year was my darling Brendan.  Our date was a special night at Disney on Ice.  He loved it!  The theme this year was celebrations.  There were performances celebrating seasons and holidays.  Valentine’s Day was the princesses.  He sang all the songs- and told me not to sing.  He studied the sets and props and loved the production value.  It was a fun night.

My observations- I’m not sure why there were so many adults without children.  On Valentine’s Day.  I’m not sure, or maybe I am exactly sure, why the beer concessions were open.

It was a fun way to start off vacation week and I really do enjoy special time with Bren!
