New performances

Bren has a way of making friends at drama.  Doesn’t matter how old they are, and actually more are older (like in middle and high school) than are his age.  He loves walking into his drama class and people knowing who he is.  He also love to go to performances and see his friends on stage.

We went to two recent performances (with two more coming up) of friends.  One was Wicked with his 4th Church friends.  The other was Pinkalicious with his Boston Children’s Theatre friends.  He was so excited for both and even more excited to perform these shows at home on his own!

Some random funny moments

There have been some funny things going on around here.  Must be cabin fever!

Aidan was excited by the dates 1/4/14 (patterns!)  He also liked finding combinations of 2014- 01/24 for example.  Love my math geek!

photo (1)Bren has been working hard on spelling and spelling tests.  Two weeks in a row he got all the words correct…but spelled O’Brien wrong.  His reasoning was that to make the long “i” sound you need a silent “e” at the end.  And in his words that’s how it “should be”.

I posted about the Aidan’s big day going to the City Dance family orientation and getting his AWC letter the same day.  Well this happened that day too.

Never a dull moment.

Big news for Aidan!

Two very cool things happened for Aidan recently!

The first happened a few months ago when Boston Ballet visited his school.  Boston Ballet has a great program called City Dance.  Third graders in Boston Public Schools are chosen to participate.  The program runs for 10 weeks.  Students leave class one morning a week and take a bust to Boston Ballet’s studios.  They have a ballet class and another enrichment dance class.  Boston Ballet provides everything for the program.  Aidan was chosen to participate!!  We went to the family orientation and it sounds so amazing.  His former book buddy from first grade participated and still continues to dance with Boston Ballet.

On the same day we were planning to go to the family orientation, Aidan received a letter in the mail saying he placed into the Advanced Work Program for fourth grade.  He is super excited about that too!

So proud of my well rounded, enthusiastic young man!
