Life is Good

I realized recently that several of my Instagram photos have the caption “Life is Good” mostly because I genuinely feel that way.  I have a great life and a great family.  There is of course also a company with the same name.  They have a great message too- “do what you love, love what you do.”

As their company has grew, Life is Good started a foundation to help children less fortunate.  To raise funds, they host a great big festival.  My school and three others collaborated to host an activity.  Last year we did the same.  Our activity was based on the idea that Montessori education is like “thinking outside the box.”  We had large cardboard boxes, colorful duct tape and markers.  And kids got to work!  (Pics here!)

Lucky for me I had my three favorite guys helping me out and reminding me why Life is Good.  It was a fun weekend with music, activities and lots of building!IMG_5007IMG_4990

The Jungle Book

Aidan and Brendan were both in the spring performance of the Jungle Book.  The loved the show and had lots of fun.  It was a no brainer that when the show came to Boston, we would go see it.

What I forgot was that the show was set in India.  The colors, music and costumes reflected what we experienced less than a year ago.  They made so many connections and loved the show.  There was a line that mentioned Udipur- they realized right away that they were there!  At one point during the show giant hand appear with henna designs- it took us all right back to India.

I knew the trip made an impact.  It certainly did on me.  But to have it continually come back in ways large and small is amazing.  I love that we had that experience.  And I love that the kids took it in too.  I can’t wait for more adventures.

And the play was amazing too.

Brendan is now in first grade.  Hot pink backpack and matching lunch box.  He has the same teacher Aidan had and knew a friend in the class.  He is looking forward to a great year!

Aidan is a big third grader.  His best friend is in his class again and he is super excited to continue learning.

Add in piano lessons, swim team, drama, karate and the Boys and Girls Club and we are ready for a fun year!
