Children’s Museum in Easton

It is school vacation week and between sickness and snow, we have been pretty cooped up (not that I don’t love relaxing at home, but its becoming less relaxing, more stressful).  So yesterday we went to the Children’s Museum in Easton.

We chose to go there because we see it advertised on Fetch with Ruff Ruffman, one of Aidan favorite PBS shows.  It was terrific!  There was plenty of stuff for little ones and the game and clues for the Ruff ‘exhibit’ were awesome!  Aidan loved it- and is very good at problem solving!  It was quite busy but it is school vacation week and judging by the number of little kids, it may just be like that in the morning anyway.  we saw a very showy outside area that we will need to go back to visit.

What a fun day!

Oh Brendan….

Yeah, we say this A LOT.  Brendan has become quite a character!  Language explosion has completely kicked in and he is off and running (and he’s a fast little kid too!)!

Brendan is soaking up his Nana and Papa time, though he does miss Aidan and is excited when Aidan has a half day or no school.  He looks forward to seeing him at the end of the day too- he always has hugs!

Once a week Bren goes to the BAC for Gym and Swim.  He is having fun and making friends. He loves his teachers too!

Recently Brendan was moved into the Pike class at his Saturday morning swimming lesson!  This marks the first time in over four years Chris is not in the pool with one of the boys!  Bren is doing good, he is very excited to swim on his own and loves doing jumps!

Brendan can almost always be found with something in his hands- a string, ribbon, towel.  Anything!  It’s really funny!

He is also into memorizing songs (Black Eyed Peas are an O’Brien boy favorite) and shows.  His current favorite is the Feeling episode of Barney- he even made the faces on paper plates with Nana.  So when you are angry that Bren didn’t listen to you- he gives you the angry face (try keeping a straight face!).

Next adventure for Brendan- Potty Training!!!!

Update on Aidan

New big Kid Seat!

Since its been awhile- time for an update!  Aidan today, Bren tomorrow 🙂

Aidan started Walnut Park in September.  He also started soccer (loved being goalie, didn’t love running), yoga (LOVES THIS!) and Karate (a weekly favorite!).  Once a week in the fall he also did Computer club.  He is still swimming on Saturday mornings – he is now DIVING and doing laps with rotating breathing!!!  Seems like a lot but the school clubs are right after school and are over by 3:30.

In school he has been exploring his new classroom and soaking in all the Montessori curriculum has to offer.  He loves it.  It is a perfect fit for him.  He also loves the “extras”- gym, art, music, library and Spanish.  It’s really fun to get to peak in and see how he is doing.

Halloween this year was a circus theme.  “Brendan is funny and I like to be in charge.”  Behold Aidan the ringmaster and Brendan the clown.  Very funny!

The holidays were great, lots of family to see.  It’s fun that he is older and “gets it.”

We are now gearing up for Aidan’s 5th birthday!  When did that happen?!  The plan is to work on his birthday poster during vacation.

Aidan loves to be creative and learn more and more about everything around him.  He is reading, figuring out math, amazes us with geography and is learning to pitch in and help out around the house.  He is a great kid and we love him so much!!!!
