Aidan’s Minecraft Class

Last spring while Aidan was at a 4th Church class, Katie asked him what classes he would like to see in the new school year. He shared all the computer classes he has enjoyed and especially was looking forward to over the summer- namely- Minecraft. Katie asked if he would consider teaching a class and Aidan enthusiastically jumped at the opportunity.

img_4605Aidan will be teaching a 10 week Minecraft class. He has planned an syllabus and has themes and goals each week.  He worked with Chris to set up the computers and talked through what he wants to do and how he wants the class to culminate.

After the first week he realized the one thing he hadn’t thought about- managing a class of excited students! But that’s what having an adult there is for! And he is getting the hang of it (and has a new respect for his own teachers).

It’s a pretty great experience for him and a way for him to earn some spending money- so proud of him!

New School Year!

Here we go…6th grade and 4th grade. Time is certainly flying.

For Aidan it’s a big year- lockers, changing classes, schedules, ISEE prep and exam. I can’t believe we are here already.

For Brendan it’s a year with new teachers, new friends (lots of friends in other classes), tougher work and more big kid stuff.  (note the metallic high top Converse sneakers)

Summer ’16 Part 2

Some of what makes summer so great is that with no homework and far fewer activities we are able to just go do fun things. Some favorites from this summer- pool time with the Parisi’s, driving almost an hour just to get ice cream, having dinner across from the beach (and countless Sully’s trips), our first trip to Summer Shack, seeing a show in Gloucester, getting slush, having a spontaneous water fight, building structures in the front yard, hanging out at Lawn on D, going to SkyZone and of course our birthdays.  Love these guys!
