Rick Riodan

Rick Riodan seems to write nonstop. Which is a good thing since Aidan loves his books.

IMG_2896He also happens to be local so when a new book does come out his one and only appearance is for the hometown crowd.

Is like seeing a rockstar. Not only are tickets needed (and sell out) but you have to arrive early to get seats together- this time at the John Hancock Hall (so weird to be there since so many of my dance recitals were there!!).

Aidan and Trinity were there again. And very excited about the new book!!

Giving Voice 2016

Last year we had an awesome time celebrating Boston Children’s Theatre at their gala, Giving Voice. A highlight for us was Brendan sharing his love for BCT. This year he knew he would be performing with Junior Show Choir during the cocktail hour. Even more exciting- BCT would be honoring Kristen Chenoweth. Brendan is a HUGE fan and is still wearing his Wicked T shirt since he got it after seeing the show in London.  We knew it would be a special night.

IMG_2821What could be better? Being chosen to present Ms. Chenoweth with the award. He took pictures, gave her hug and a kiss on her cheek. He was speechless trying to introduce her! Her passion for musical theater, supporting children’s theater and being an advocate for equality make her an admire person. She shared how impressed she was with the students performing and their obvious support for each other. She remarked on the comments Burgess made about teaching his students to be “good people first, good actors second.”

IMG_2870Another highlight was the announcement that BCT had received a grant to support expanding theater arts in Boston Public elementary schools. Something we are certainly champions for!!

How can an amazing night get even better? Winning the 50/50 raffle!!
