In the span of 5 days, all winter activities ended

What a crazy couple of days! All the winter activities ended at the same time making it a VERY busy couple of days.  Add in that Chris had a work trip to New York and Brendan made his First Penance and we were super busy!!

IMG_8499Wednesday was the premiere of Aidan’s Lights! Camera! Action! Film. Brendan had a guest role.  It was pretty funny!  I’m so glad Aidan has the opportunity to be creative and have fun with his friends!

Thursday was dress rehearsal for Newsies AND Brendan’s First Penance.

Friday was the premiere of Newsies! I was the cool mom who had a hotspot for all the siblings who had to sit through all practices!

IMG_8535Saturday was so busy! We started the day at UMass Boston for the swim team championships.  From there Brendan got to go to the recording studio for his vocal ensemble group’s recording of Annie.  Then we had night two of Newsies!

Phew! Looking forward to a couple weeks with no after school activities!!!  Big thanks to all the adults who make it all possible- especially the ones who go over and above celebrating all the kids at their various activities!

First Penance

Brendan, who has perfect attendance at CCD and goes to Mass every week, informed me last week he wasn’t going to go because, “It isn’t any of the priests concern what I do with my business.” I explained that the priest was acting as God to which he matter of factly responded, “But he isn’t. When I do something wrong, I talk to God when I say my prayers at night and God always forgives. So why do I need to tell a priest?”

10!

Aidan is 10.  Wow! Where did the time go?  A whole decade!

The night before Aidan’s birthday we taped streamers across the doorway with the door closed and filled the space with balloons.  When Aidan woke up and opened the door all the balloons poured out.  He thought it was pretty funny.  I also made a big 10 with pictures of his previous nine birthdays.  Crazy to see how much he changed year to year.

Aidan’s choice of fun was for us to go to Sky Zone. So much jumping! Then Bren went off to voice lessons and Chris and I got to go to lunch with the birthday boy. (and then I dropped my phone, smashed the screen and needed to go buy a new iPhone. Ug)

We had our family party that night and Aidan was excited to receive Legos and other fun things. The next weekend was his friends party. Aidan’s friends party was held at Boston Bowl. We drove over with three of his friends.  All Minecraft talk.  All the time.  OMG.

The party was a fun time, I just can’t believe he is 10.  Time is certainly flying!
