Anniversary Trip

Our 15th wedding anniversary was in January and we knew we wanted to do something fun. While looking for trips for our family vacation, we stumbled across a great deal for airline tickets to London! The dates coincided with Frank Turner performing. Add a great deal on a five star hotel and we had ourselves a long weekend in London (perfectly timed with the bathroom construction!).

We had an easy flight over and an early check in. After napping we went to dinner and then decided to go to Brian Regan’s comedy show. On Sunday we toured the British Museum and saw all the treasurers “found”. Then it was the concert at Ally Palace – a very cool venue. We got back to the hotel to see the Super Bowl (I fell asleep). On Monday we visited the Tate Modern Museum before coming home. We enjoyed roaming around, eating whenever we wanted and just being tourists. It was perfect!!

Dinners alone

For the second summer, our kids have “jobs” and often have evening commitments or are out with friends.

This means dinners alone. At adult restaurants. With adult conversations.

As much as I hate that they are getting older and are becoming more independent, I do enjoy date nights when we can! AND I got to enjoy my favorite summer tradition – Barking Crab steamers!
