Report Cards

The kids got their report cards just before the holidays- they did great…but not without drama.

Aidan got his report card on a Thursday.  He was devastated.  On the four point scale, 4 being the highest, Aidan got one 2.  He has never received a 2.  He was in tears.  Worse yet- it was in organization!

He decided to talk to the teacher to ask how he could improve for the next term.  As soon as he asked to talk to her, she noticed the mistake on his report card.  It should have been a 4.  He felt so much better.

Comments on both kids report cards read like the goals of a Montessori classroom- they are independent learners, who ask and answer questions and work well with their friends.  Couldn’t ask for anything more!

A Christmas Carol

Time for another Brendan production- this time 4th Church’s production was, fittingly, A Christmas Carol.

Bren played a clerk- the funny clerk.  He learned about air quotes.  He loved it!  He also loved that so many people came to see him- friends from school, old friends from swimming lessons and Walnut Park, swim team friends, family and even his Boston Children’s Theatre teacher!

It was really special so close to Christmas and all the songs he has been singing.  And of course, he loved every minute!

First Swim Meet at Teammates

Both boys started swimming with Chris in water babies before they were a year old.  Both have loved it- especially their years swimming with Ms. Siobhan.  When Aidan outgrew swimming lessons at the Y, he continued at the Condon and before long at the urging of a friend joined the swim team.  I think he competed in the last two or three meets when he was in first grade.

Similarly, Bren finished swim lessons with Ms. Siobhan and moved over to swim at the Condon.  He competed in his first official swim meet this month!  He has friends from his class are on the team- there was actually a freestyle relay team of the four of them!

I think Bren really liked it- and Aidan enjoyed having him on the team!
