The Little Mermaid

The Little Mermaid is probably my least favorite of the Disney stories.  Something about becoming something you are not to make someone else happy, just doesn’t sit right for me.  But I get the allure- falling in love with a prince and following your dream of something more.

The kids were great.  I say every time how impressed I am with the friendships and amount of team work they show pulling it together when it seems like they could use a few extra weeks.

Bren loved being an “evil eel.”  The kids who were chosen for main parts were younger this time and did a great job stepping up.  Bren even talked about how proud he was of different friends.

Something else that made this show special- Brendan’s friend came to his show to cheer him on.  He was so excited!

Another ER Trip

For real.  Not kidding.  One week to the day of Aidan’s injury.  8 days into new insurance.

Bren was swinging on the fence and the fence stopped swinging.  5 stitches in his forehead.  All he cared about was getting to dress rehearsal for his show!

Swim Team

IMG_5763The Swim Team 2013-2014 season officially ended this weekend with the Boston Centers for Youth and Families Swim Meet at Harvard.  All the teams were there- hundreds of people.  It was intense!

Aidan had a rough start loosing his goggles as he dove in for his first race.  The kids had arrived just as he meet was starting and hadn’t had time to warm up.  He was upset but shook it off and did great in his other races.

Bren got very nervous and upset before his first race.  There were so many people!  His first race was just after much bigger kids raced and he got very overwhelmed.  But he pulled himself together for his other races.

It has been so awesome this season having the kids on the same team.  It’s one of the few activities they share and now share lots of friends.  They loved going in the van to meets.  They loved practices with their friend (perhaps loving the free time more).  They had great coaches who made it fun.  They loved after meets when we would go out to dinner with other families.

It was a long season, but they loved every minute of it!
