Halloween, as established, is a high holy day in the O’Brien House. Castle Island, school party, Broadway Trick or Treating and Halloween itself were all part of this year’s festivities. And one more special guest, Wally the Green Monster.  This year’s costumes…. Burger King and Wendy!
A note about the school Halloween Party first- this is the first year Bren decided to wear his actual Halloween costume to the party. That marks three years he has worn a dress to the school party (Merida, Elphaba and Wendy). With no issue at all. Â Just Brendan being Brendan. Grateful to a school and community that allows this to be a non-issue.
I saw a tweet from the Red Sox about Halloween costumes that were Red Sox inspired. Â I happened to be putting together a slide show of all the kids costumes- including Bren’s first Halloween as Wally, a couple of days after the 2007 World Series. So I entered it and then saw it was part of a contest.
A contest that we won. Â Our prize- Wally the Green Monster would be Trick or Treating with us!!!
It was so much fun! We had to keep telling people it really was Wally!!
We arrived on Thursday and after naps and lunch (or whatever meal it was), we went to Wicked! Brendan was so excited (and how cool that the national tour was in Seattle when were were!).
