I thought it was a sure win. The polls seemed to indicate that. Even people who were Trump supporters seemed to think they would loose on Election Night. But that’s not what happened.  I stayed up until 4am watching the analysts trying to find the words to explain what had just happened.  Their lack of words was exactly what I was feeling.

Hillary Clinton was almost the first female president. She won the popular vote. Trump alienated large groups of people and is volatile.

And now we have to explain this to our kids. Love is suppose to trump hate. But it sure doesn’t feel that way.

The were so excited on election day. They voted for Obama twice and hoped to vote for the first female president. Instead we had to talk about how people could vote for someone who has said horrible things about people and who has made their friends afraid of what the future may hold.
