Halloween is one of our favorite holidays and we usually go big.  The kids think there needs to be a theme and we have now resorted to multiple costumes to fit the occasion. Our general rule for Trick or Treating is the costume must be one that can be layered.  We have had cold Halloweens and very warm ones. Sometimes you need a turtleneck, sometimes shorts.

This year they decided to go with a Back to the Future theme.  Aidan was Doc Brown, Bren was Marty McFly.

But Bren’s obsession with Wicked lately (since London) could not be squashed.  So he decided he wanted to be Elphaba from Wicked for his school party.  We practiced with the green face paint in advance and then at Bren’s urging made a video.  Because in addition to his obsession with Wicked, he is also obsessed with You Tube videos about Wicked.  Here is his video.  He got rave reviews, especially from his theater friends.

Aidan decided to be Dr. Who.  This is his favorite new obsession- to watch episodes with Chris.  He wanted to be the 10th doctor, complete with suit and red Converse sneakers.  He looked so old!  Not many kids knew who he was for the party, but a lot of adults got a good laugh!!
