Celebrating the arts

IMG_6585I was taught in graduate school that you can see what an institution (or person) values by where they spend their resources- financial and time.  Very true.  Chris and I attended two fundraisers in the last week- both were for drama programs (amongst others).

We celebrated 4th Fest and all the great work 4th Church does- not just drama but science clubs, music lessons and more.  The following week we attended Boston Children’s Theatre’s Gala.

Both gave me pause to think about all the great adults who work with both kids.  Our kids a very lucky to have so many supportive people who give them opportunities to thrive.  It seems the least we can do is say thank you and support their missions.

We look forward to lots more opportunities to give back to those who give so much to both our kids.  And both were a fun time with other grown ups who have kids like ours!!

Tracy and James got married!!!

April 26th was an exciting day for us- we officially added James and Kiley to our family.  It was an awesome day and a very special wedding.  All four of us were in the wedding!

It was a busy week getting ready, picking up all the necessary things, going to appointments and helping in any way we could.  The day of the wedding started early for me- hair, make up and hanging out with my sisters and Tracy’s friends.  We had lots of laughs!  The boys had an easier time of getting ready (isn’t that always the way!).

Then it was wedding time.

The skies cleared just in time to avoid getting us wet.  It was a beautiful ceremony.  On the way to the reception we went down G Street hill and were sliding on the trolly.  Bren wrote about this as one of his favorite parts of the wedding.  Then it was on to the reception- my toast, the photo booth and fun at the reception.

The boys LOVED the photo booth- there were 24 photo strips when we got home!!  They also loved dancing!  Aidan was a dancing fool!  He even did the worm!

It was definitely a night to remember!!
