It took longer than we expected, but Brendan finally lost his second front tooth! We were at the movies waiting to see Into the Woods. He claims that wearing his lucky shirt helped!

One of Brendan’s after school activities this session is vocal ensemble.  There are five kids and they called themselves “4th Direction” after 4th Church.  They have been working on three songs.  For the end of the session Ms. Shannon took them to a recording studio to make their own CD!  What a cool experience!

Bren has been taking Saturday classes a Boston Children’s Theatre since last year.  He has been going to summer camp since he was four years old. At a class recently a few kids were pulled to audition for an upcoming show.  This prompted Brendan to ask if he could audition for the other upcoming BCT shows.

Not knowing much about what he would need to know, we asked Ms. Shannon, Bren’s vocal ensemble teacher, for help.  She worked with him on his audition song (Do, Re Mi) and how to present himself.

Bren seemed intimidated when he got to the audition- there were almost 40 kids at his session!  All the kids went in together and worked together.  He was so excited when he heard he got a call back!

He went back for his callback which was pretty similar to the audition but the kids worked in pairs to practice lines too.  The next day he saw it posted on the website- he got a part!! He is in the company for Stuart Little!

And on the same day he found out- he also finally lost his front tooth! (Like really lost it, on the way to the nurse’s office!!)
