#WickedProud

For the third year, my school marched in the Boston Pride Parade. The first year Brendan and I went for part of the parade. Brendan loved seeing all the costumes. Last year we had a wedding. This year we asked the kids if they wanted to participate. Aidan had the opportunity to serve a wedding (make money), so it was just the three of us.

The night before Brendan and I went to two Party City stores to find the perfect “costume.” It was going to be hot. Here is what he chose:

Within a few minutes Brendan announced he wanted to do cartwheels.  So he did. For the whole parade route. Much to the pleasure and applause of those watching. He even made Boston Pride’s Instargram cartwheeling. Such a fun time!

Brendan’s First Communion

IMG_2603Brendan made his First Communion this month. He was adorable! He wore a white suit but added his own flair- white cowboy boots.  Here are some pictures. The following day was the May Procession (“2nd Communion”).

Here are some funny quotes from the day… it was so fun!!

Me- “You need to go to bed on time tonight so you don’t have dark circles under your eyes for First Communion.”

Bren- “It’s ok if I do we can use my concealer in my drama bag.”

****

Me- For First Communion today, no hipster glasses.

Bren- It’s ok I can wear my contacts.

Um…..

****

Bren- I’m the first kid sitting in the third row.

Me- That means you’re not the smallest kid making their First Communion!

Bren- The first two rows are the kids doing readings.

And this is why he wore cowboy boots with a heal.
