School Vacation Week!!

Chris and I both have a few days off during school vacation week and we have some fun plans too!

Day 1- Eric Carle Museum, Dr. Seuss Sculpture Park and the Ellen Show!

We traveled out west- to Amherst and Springfield.  The boys loved the Eric Carle Museum when we visited last spring.  Everything is so hands on for them- the Art studio (the day’s activity was print making), playing the library, scavenger hunt in the Gallery- perfect for them!  It is big, beautiful and full of light!

Since it was the closest we would be to Springfield, we took the quick trip to the Dr. Seuss Sculpture park in the Springfield Museums.  The park was beautiful! (going to save the museums for when the boys are a bit older).  We saw characters from all our favorite stories!  Brendan LOVED the girl from Cat in the Hat.

Later Aidan and I decided that since Jennie was in Mexico, we should go the Ellen event in Brighton (so close to her house!!!).  You had to bring three items- something beginning with C, V and S.  Aidan brought his cap, vegetables and Sunggie!  It was so fun seeing everyone’s creativity!  Not sure that Aidan will be on TV but is was quite the experience!

Alligators, Butterflies, Monkeys- oh my!

We took the kids to the Rainforest Cafe for dinner yesterday.  Such a fun place to go with them!  Aidan is learning about the rain forest and South America in school and was telling us all about what his class discovered.  Brendan was enjoying telling us about what animals he “spied” and the sounds the made.  The sporadic thunder and lighting storms took them both by surprise- but was really fun!  And we were lucky enough to sit right next to an aquarium of fish!

Best part of all- topping it all off with dessert- a VOLCANO!

So big so fast

Most of our pictures have now been uploaded here.  Wow- how time flies!

I have to admit unless I am looking at the date, I have trouble seeing differences in the kids at different ages.  I never realized how similar they look!
