Some random funny moments

There have been some funny things going on around here.  Must be cabin fever!

Aidan was excited by the dates 1/4/14 (patterns!)  He also liked finding combinations of 2014- 01/24 for example.  Love my math geek!

photo (1)Bren has been working hard on spelling and spelling tests.  Two weeks in a row he got all the words correct…but spelled O’Brien wrong.  His reasoning was that to make the long “i” sound you need a silent “e” at the end.  And in his words that’s how it “should be”.

I posted about the Aidan’s big day going to the City Dance family orientation and getting his AWC letter the same day.  Well this happened that day too.

Never a dull moment.

New Year’s Eve

2013 had its highs and lows- the Marathon Bombing was such a devastating event but the swell of pride in the city certainly helped to move us forward.  Boston Strong was the rallying cry of the Red Sox and it was so befitting that they became World Series Champions and during the parade placed the Boston Strong jersey on the finish line.  It’s hard to not watch clips of this year without feeling moved.

So where better to be to end 2013 than Fenway Park?  Frozen Fenway- sledding, ice skating, seeing the trophies and warming up with hot chocolate and a bit of dancing too!  What a fun time and a great way to end the year.

2013 was a great year for our family and we have a lot to look forward to in 2014!  I can’t believe how quickly time flies- the boys are 8 and 6 already.  But they are so much fun to share good times with.  Bring on 2014!!

Christmas 2013

When I put together my list of all the holiday stuff we did this year, it made me realize how many things we did.  And I thought of a few more that I wanted to do!

Regardless, it wasn’t the things we did or presents we got that made this a great Christmas.  It was the time together, enjoying family and friends.  This Christmas felt more relaxing than past ones.  Maybe it is that the kids are older, that we have figured out all our events or that simply we do step back more and enjoy it.

Santa brought the kids the gifts they asked for (plus more) and the love and generosity of family and friends was overflowing.  The magic of Christmas was certainly felt.  I have always loved Christmas and the holiday time of the year, but seeing it through the eyes of the boys and the magic they love, makes it even more special.
