York Beach

Summer 2018 wouldn’t be the same without a beach day in York. We don’t know how the summer will go- how busy Bren’s theater schedule or any of our schedules will be. So the first nice day we could, we took advantage of the perfect weather and went to our favorite place. I love that we have this family tradition. But between this trip and the end of school the realization of how old the kids are getting is really setting in.

I read an article about how parents have 18 summers,18 years of memories. I’d like to think beyond high school they will still want to keep some family traditions alive. But really looking at Aidan, 18 summer is only 5 more. Ug. I love our summer memories, I love when the kids talk about things we “always do.” I hope they love it as much as we have.

End of the School Year

The 2017-2018 school year has come to an end. It was a really great year for both kids.

Aidan did well in his first year at Boston Latin. He learned a lot and also got involved in clubs too- Dungeons and Dragons, video game club, graphic design and a little bit of jazz band too. He really enjoyed learning the trombone and he enjoyed his Latin class.

Brendan had a successful fifth grade year too. His teacher helped him with strategies to help with learning. He helped found the school’s first GSA.

Our before and after picture show how much they grew. I wish time would slow down…

Brendan’s Birthday

Brendan’s 11th birthday is one he won’t soon forget – it was the first day of his new show Richard III.

We started the day by celebrating with confetti cannons. He went to school for a bit, then to meet everyone in the cast and crew (Chris and I had our own lunch celebrating!). Then home to celebrate with family. We also played the soundtrack to Mean Girls since that was his birthday gift he enjoy back in April.

Can’t believe we have an 11 year old!
