Spring Break 2016

We should have been in Amsterdam. We made plans, booked flights, researched places to visit, discussed how much bike riding we could do in a day. We planned to be in Amsterdam with our travel friends for the tulips blooming, a famous art exhibit and see Ann Frank’s house.

But plans change. Bombs go off. And we adapt.

The Paris and Brussels bombings have had a ripple effect. There are arrests being made and updates keep coming even as weeks pass. An arrest of a French national tied to the Paris bombing the town over from where we would be staying made our decision.

We did look into a shorter trip to Iceland (where our layover would be). Not only did it become cost prohibitive but there were riots and the Prime Minister resigned over a financial scandal. What a world.

So we planned a stay-cation with lots of old favorite activities and a few new ones.

Last year we went to the Melting Pot. Dipping treats in chocolate was on our must do list this year:

After the cooking class we took advantage of the nice weather and played on the Greenway including the carousel!

During February vacation we went to a Rock Climbing gym- the kids wanted to show it off to Chris.

Aidan loved his birthday party at Laser Craze. So he suggested bringing everyone who didn’t get to go for a fun day! (and then we went out for pizza)

The MIT Museum hosted Dimensions of Dr. Who, Of course this guy LOVED it!

It wasn’t Amsterdam but it was a lot of fun. Anytime with these guys always is.  And we will get to Amsterdam.  Some day.
