However, when Erin told me about the Capital Campout at Castle Island- the first time anyone would be camping at the fort- it was hard to say no. And we all had a great time!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.obriensr.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_9049.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"  wp-image-2119 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.obriensr.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_9049-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_9049\" width=\"188\" height=\"188\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.obriensr.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_9049-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.obriensr.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_9049-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.obriensr.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_9049-1024x1024.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 188px) 100vw, 188px\" \/><\/a>We arrived on Friday and the tents were set up. All the equipment was ready for us. We made a family flag, we played &#8220;old fashioned&#8221; games, heard stories from the Tea Party actors and we got to know the other families- other 4th graders. Governor Baker came to kick off outdoors month and told the kids stories and make s&#8217;mores. Brendan shared that I didn&#8217;t vote for him. (of course)<\/p>\n<p>We toured the fort as the sunset, listened to the story teller and the kids loved playing flashlight tag and manhunt win the dark.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.obriensr.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_9072.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-2118\" src=\"http:\/\/www.obriensr.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_9072-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_9072\" width=\"241\" height=\"241\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.obriensr.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_9072-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.obriensr.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_9072-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.obriensr.us\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/06\/IMG_9072-1024x1024.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 241px) 100vw, 241px\" \/><\/a>On Saturday we woke up to a downpour! The rain stopped and the kids participated in fishing, yoga, learning to read a compass and more fun games.<\/p>\n<p>It was fun to spend time with the kids and their friends doing something new. They want to try it again!
