\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Cam and Mitchell are on the cover of the newspaper!\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he said very excitedly.\u00c2\u00a0 He grabbed it and started looking for more pictures.\u00c2\u00a0 Then begged to get it to read in the car.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Why do you think Cam and Mitchell are on the cover?\u00e2\u20ac\u009d I asked.<\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Because they are getting married and Mitchell knows Neil Patrick Harris,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d he answered.<\/p>\n

He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a big fan of NPH after watching him host the Tony awards.<\/p>\n

It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not because two men are getting married or this may be the biggest gay wedding on TV.\u00c2\u00a0 He loves the show for the show.\u00c2\u00a0 He loves the characters. \u00c2\u00a0He also is all about weddings since we just celebrated Tracy and James’ wedding.<\/p>\n

Truth be told, Cam and Mitchell aren\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t his favorite characters on the show- Gloria and Haley are. \u00c2\u00a0He likes their clothes and shoes.\u00c2\u00a0 Bren also likes that in real life Lily is the same age (same birthday month even!) as him.<\/p>\n

Aidan is equally fond of Modern Family and is looking forward to seeing the big season finale.\u00c2\u00a0 They became interested in the show this year after catching a couple of re-runs that now air during the week earlier than the new episodes.\u00c2\u00a0 The boys do not watch a lot of television but immediately became interested in seeing more episodes.<\/p>\n

We do not let them watch every episode- some have topics a little too mature for them.\u00c2\u00a0 Chris and I watch them first.\u00c2\u00a0 And laugh a lot.\u00c2\u00a0 Then we watch the new episodes the day after they air as a family. \u00c2\u00a0They often\u00c2\u00a0watch them more than just once- the Halloween episode is a favorite.<\/p>\n

What makes the show so great is that at its heart it is about family and love.\u00c2\u00a0 It does not matter what the family looks like or how it is made up, only that they love each other.<\/p>\n

Last week was the tenth anniversary of marriage equality in Massachusetts.\u00c2\u00a0 This is the legacy- a six year old thinking a magazine cover could be made because of a friendship with Neil Patrick Harris and not because two men hold up a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Just Married\u00e2\u20ac\u009d sign.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
