I was asked recently, around the time Chris and I celebrated our anniversary, “what makes for a successful marriage?”<\/p>\n
In our case, the answer is easy- laughter.\u00c2\u00a0 A lot of it.\u00c2\u00a0 You can’t take yourself or everything going on around you too seriously.<\/p>\n
An example?\u00c2\u00a0 Our luck with cars recently.\u00c2\u00a0 Just before leaving for India, Chris noticed his car was making a noise.\u00c2\u00a0 Which never happens at a good time, but just after a big trip and close to holiday is a horrible time.\u00c2\u00a0 He had it looked at and the good news was that it was not the expensive thing he thought it was.\u00c2\u00a0 It was worse.\u00c2\u00a0 Like get a new car worse.<\/p>\n
So off he went to look at new cars one Saturday.\u00c2\u00a0 So I took Aidan to karate.\u00c2\u00a0 On the way home, while waiting for the light to change, a pick up truck came around the corner and a washing machine hit my car.\u00c2\u00a0 Yeah, that happened.\u00c2\u00a0 It fell off the truck and hit the corner of my car.<\/p>\n
Chris went to pick up his new car and it was too late to park it on the street because of resident parking hours and not having time to get a pass.\u00c2\u00a0 So he put it in the garage.\u00c2\u00a0 Except that he wasn’t able to judge the mirrors and hit the passenger side.\u00c2\u00a0 It fell and smashed.\u00c2\u00a0 Ug.<\/p>\n
Sometimes all you can do is laugh.<\/p>\n
